Sex+Religion

Premieres Fall 2010

13 X 30 Minute Documentary Series

Produced by Creative Anarchy and Riddle Films

What is the relationship between sex and religion? Where does sex fit into the pursuit of spiritual enlightenment? Is it an integral part of who we are, or is it a blind biological drive that leads us away from the divine? In a world overflowing with divergent attitudes about sex and religion, the sacred and the profane, how are we to navigate this provocative landscape?

We’ll delve into first person, personal stories to peek into the sex lives of people trying to answer that question.  We’ll seek out sex therapists to Buddhist monks, dominatrixes to Catholic priests.  We’ll speak to those experts both inside and outside the fold: experts on tantric sex and celibacy, rabbis, priests, imams, Tibetan lamas, sex workers, philosophers and gurus, all will shed some much-needed light on the relationship between sex and religion.

Christ said, “I tell you that anyone who looks on a woman with lust, has, in his heart, already committed adultery.”  On the other hand many sex experts see guilt surrounding fantasy as a contributing factor to sexual dysfunction. Can there be sexual fantasy without sin?
